5 bananas (preferably pisang abu or pisang nangka)
3 cups coconut milk
1 block of gula melaka
Additional white sugar (if necessary) and a pinch of salt
1. Cut the bananas into slices of about 3-5cm thickness, depending on the size of the bananas.
2 .Place the bananas, gula melaka and pandan leaf in a pot and add a cup of water.
3. Bring to boil until the sugar is dissolved or the banana has softened. Then add in the coconut milk. Let it simmer over low heat until the bananas are properly cooked.
4. Add a pinch of salt and additional white sugar if necessary. Serve hot or chilled.
